Say hello to Maddox and Britt!
Summer is upon us, and that doesn’t just mean heat and humidity in Charlotte! The Edison Nation team is very lucky to have two spectacular interns join us for the season and we wanted you to get to know them a bit better…
Let’s start with Maddox!
Where did you go to school?
I graduated from Appalachian State University.
What’s your major/minor?
Major in Industrial Design with a focus in Product Design.
What brought you to Edison Nation??
I found out about Enventys through a brief internship at Bolt Group, so I contacted Enventys and interviewed for an internship and they placed me here at Edison Nation.
What are your responsibilities as an intern?
I help Laura Lynch with graphical layouts of surveys and microsites, as well as industrial design work and computer modeling to develop inventors? ideas.
What do you enjoy most about working at Edison Nation (so far)?
It?s so chill. I was worried the first day that my shoes may not be fancy enough. I now realize that shoes are almost optional. Also the park is nice, and the location. The people are all lovely. It?s nice to have fountain Dr. Pepper and coffee whenever I want. There is an ice cream machine (although I am yet to try it). The back porch is really great. I feel very comfortable here.
If you could be doing anything else right at this moment, what would it be?
Snowboarding. Maybe SCUBA diving. Maybe a music festival? But today is Monday and they?re always on the weekends. I?ve never ridden an ostrich either, that could be fun.
What’s your hidden talent?
Teleportation.
If you could experience someone else’s life for just one day, who would it be?
The most interesting man alive from the Dos Equis commercials.
Who are you often told is your doppelganger?
Matthew McConaughey, but more when my hair is longer.
You’re only allowed to eat one food for the rest of your life. What would you choose?
Pizza no doubt. Or prosciutto and melon.
What’s a goal you’re most proud of accomplishing?
Graduating from App State without freezing to death.
What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime and why?
I think I must say Google. I wouldn?t have passed college without Google. Google is everything. But also maybe podcasts.
Name one of the things on your bucket list.
Move to a tropical place for some period of time.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given and who gave it to you?
Laura showed me how to make a clipping mask in Adobe illustrator and that was basically magic.
And now, let’s get to know Britt!
Where do you go to school?
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill??17
What’s your major/minor?
Economics with minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship.
What brought you to Edison Nation??
Changes every day – my favorite part is working with the new inventions people have submitted and helping to market them.
What do you enjoy most about working at Edison Nation (so far)?

Hike the full Appalachian Trail.
