Rio Brands is looking for beach, tailgating and camping invention ideas

Rio Brands has returned to Edison Nation for a second search?looking for new innovations in beach, tailgating and camping products!

Founded in 1947,?Rio Brands believes in bringing fashion and quality to beach and backyard furniture. Offering features in comfort, durability and function not found elsewhere, Rio Brands currently holds 17 patents and builds their products to the highest quality standards in the industry. Some of their patented products are Wonder Wheeler beach carts, backpack chairs and the Integrated Sand Anchor for beach umbrellas.

Rio was also the pioneer of beach umbrellas with sun protection and SPF ratings.

In addition to Rio’s core brands; Rio Beach, Rio Creations and Rio Gear, the company also manufactures and distributes outdoor furniture for the Tommy Bahama and Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville brands.

Rio Brands has come back to Edison Nation with an urgent search to find?unique, mechanical yet usable, patentable ideas to help them?continue their leadership role as an innovator in the marketplace.

To meet the requirements of their industry timeline, the Rio Brands team will be reviewing all ideas on January 15, so please get your ideas in before our January 4 deadline!

Your ideas should:

Be unique, mechanical but also simple and comfortable

Provide an easier time transporting outdoor furniture in the camping and beach categories

Have a small footprint when folded – super-compact

Be easy to set up

Be able to be packaged and stored efficiently

Keep in mind:

The focus of this search should be on beach chairs, outdoor beach furniture and camping chair and furniture.

This search does NOT include tents, food, sports, sleeping bags, cup-holders, technology holders or solar items. Camping tables and kitchen items are less important.

Any innovations considered by Rio Brands will be reviewed to ensure they are able to be mass-produced and practical. In general, items should cost no more than $100 and average around $50.

We ask for well-communicated ideas. This includes filling out our easy-to-use submission form to the best of your ability. Upload images, sketches and any other media that support your idea. Tell us why your idea is better than anything else on the market. We even encourage you to create a video demonstrating your innovation. Don?t worry. We aren?t expecting a big-budget production. Please keep videos to less than 2 minutes.

As always, your submission should be unique and protectable (we love to see patented ideas but that certainly isn?t required). Each idea costs just $25 ($20 for Edison Insiders) to submit.

Edison Nation will accept and review your:

Tailgating is what many do before a sports, music or large event. They’ll set up a tailgate to play games, have food and beverages before the main event.

Hi Tom, you may want to do a quick Google search on this to see what solar-powered products are on the market.
