Congratulations to two of our Insider members for having their As Seen on TV (ASOTV) product ideas selected by Edison Nation ASOTV for market testing. Meet the inventors below and leave them a comment to congratulate them as their ideas undergo ideation, product design and development, commercial production and market testing.
Aubrey, a California native now residing in North Carolina, came up with her invention idea while experimenting in the kitchen. Like any good inventor, she recognized an opportunity to do it better, faster and easier, that didn’t already exist, and got right to work. After creating a few home prototypes, she submitted the idea to the Edison Nation ASOTV team for consideration.
Aubrey’s advice to inventors: “Inventing is like raising children—there is no instant payoff or paycheck at the end of the day. You just have to keep working at something with out any guarantees that it will be successful. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but just like parenting, also one of the most rewarding. You do it because you love it!“
Another inventor currently residing North Carolina, Margaret is a long time member who first learned about Edison Nation after watching Everyday Edisons’. Margaret’s invention came to her after browsing hair styling solutions on Pinterest. After testing out a few prototypes on her “focus group”, AKA her two daughters, she submitted the idea to the ASOTV Open Search where it was selected by the team for market testing.
Margaret’s advice to inventors:“Never give up! But don’t get stuck on a single idea. There were two things Edison Nation CEO, Louis Foreman, said in a seminar I attended that really stuck with me: “If the numbers don’t add up, don’t pursue it,” and “Focus on your best invention, not your first.” Be patient, and take the time to learn about the business of inventing, and about what makes a marketable product. Then research your ideas as thoroughly as you can to make sure they are patentable and marketable.”
Congratulations, Margaret and Aubrey!
