As our As Seen On TV (ASOTV) 2012, Quarter 2 search prepares to close on Monday, we have an announcement that just might inspire you, as you prepare your final submissions. Please join us in congratulating Toni LaCava and John Vilardi! Their idea submitted to our ASOTV 2012, Quarter 1 search has reached Stage 8, also known as “G8” status in our review process – the final stage, which means selection! From here, we’ll complete the development of their As Seen on TV product ?idea and it will launch for a testing period in the DRTV space!

Read below to learn more about Toni and John, and how they partnered to make their product idea a reality with Edison Nation!

As a former real estate broker and business owner, Toni LaCava simply sought a better a solution for her struggles with sleep apnea, so she began working to create a solution on her own. While visiting a local inventor’s group held at the neighborhood library, Toni met a fellow inventor who introduced her to Inventors Digest magazine. Reading through the publication, Toni learned about Edison Nation and quickly joined, becoming an active member and inventor. Brainstorming for new ideas became a regular activity for Toni, and building many friendships on the Edison Nation member forums, she would often invite her “forum friends” to collaborate on submissions. One of those friends was John Vilardi, whose graphic communications background, love for art, and great ideas were a perfect addition to the new kitchen product concept Toni was working to create. Together Toni and John perfected the idea and have now found their way to G8 success!

Congratulations Toni and John!

So far we’ve earned over $200 million in sales for our inventors.

We can help you get your great ideas on TV and in stores,?at no risk to you.

Congratulations!. I can’t wait to gift your invention to several people who are in desperate need of a better solution for sleep apnea than those available.

Congrats you guys!!! A question that I have for all insiders is… Why are we never informed as to what a G8’s product is. Wouldn’t you like to know what you lost your 20 dollar submission to? I think that kind of information would be helpful because if you are finding that your inventions are too simplistic or creative compared to what G8’s are succeeding with, then you would know how much you need to step up your game. I know this product is for sleep apnea but I have no idea what it is. It’s a little nauseating the level of “We here at Edison Nation give you as little information on why your product failed and other’s succeeded as possible”. I’m not a sore loser, I’m just looking to know more about my competition. Would’t you like to know what your up against before you spend the money to submit your ideas? I understand that it’s impossible to tell everyone why their idea got the X, but it would be helpful to know exactly what it was that they were looking for in the first place.

Hi Kevin. While we are in the process of bringing an idea to market and obtaining the necessary protection for the idea, it is very crucial that we protect the inventor’s intellectual property to prevent the idea from being taken and/or knock-offs created. This is the reason we must be vague in the details we share about the success. Once the product is brought to market, we then happily share all details with the public.
