Meet the EN Team: Ryan Gorman

With so many moving parts behind the scenes making Edison Nation searches possible, it’s important to have someone managing projects and helping to keep our teams on target — that’s where our Project Director, Ryan Gorman, comes in! Today, you’ll learn a little about Ryan and how he helps facilitate the processes that give your ideas a shot at success!

Q1. What is your position within Edison Nation and what does it entail?

A. My title is Director, but I wear many hats. I have the privilege of working with every single department within Edison Nation, from the brilliant product development team to the prolific inventor and Founder, Louis Foreman. Day to day I enjoy being part of the wonderful product review team. Specifically, I head the Intellectual Property (IP) reviewer process and am the main interface with our team’s patent attorneys. I also lead the Edison Nation membership team. This EN team is responsible for improving the EN membership experience and for sharing information with our community.

Q2. What do you enjoy most about working at Edison Nation?

A. I have participated in and/or planned every “Everyday Edisons” casting call casting since the inception of the show. This has enabled me to meet and help a lot of creative and interesting people.

Q3. Where are you from?

A. I was born and raised right here in Charlotte, North Carolina. The birth place of Edison Nation and “Everyday Edisons”!

Q4. What are you likely doing on a Saturday morning?

A. If the weather is nice you will find me outdoors running, biking or washing my car. If it is raining, you’ll find me indoors whipping up a four-star breakfast and watching the news.

Q5. What is one of your favorite quotes?

A. “I would spread the cloths under your feet;
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”

-William Butler Yeats

    Very nice to meet you! EN thank you for sharing so much information with EN participants this is just one more reason for inventors to utilize your services!

    Energy Nation thinkers, did you ever consider the wind that is generated by traffic on the highways as an energy resource? Check this out. Put verticle wind turbine generators on the sides of the highways to capture that energy. I am thinking of the verticle generators I saw in an article where they were mounted on sailbosts. The gearbox and generator would be at the base for stability and ease of maintenance. The turbine blades are in the verticle axis. They don’t have to be megawatt producers because the energy stored in ultracapacitors or other medium would only be used for the road lighting of the highway. Some may want to use that energy to power the new electronic billboards that are starting to show up along our highways. I just want to plant a seed for some young mind to cultivate. Good luck in all of your growing seasons. Larry Grieshop, age 68.
