Happy 165th Birthday, Thomas Edison!

This Saturday, February 11, will mark what would’ve been the 165th birthday of Thomas Edison. If our name hasn’t clued you in, we kinda like Mr. Edison in these here parts! ;) So in celebration of one of the greatest innovators of all time, Edison Nation will host “A Week of Edison” from Wednesday, February 8 – Wednesday, February 15.

Join us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for a week of interesting invention facts, inspiring Edison quotes, and Edison-inspired trivia that could earn those history-sharp inventing enthusiasts a chance to win a free submission to any of our searches or a signed copy of our CEO Louis Foreman’s book, The Independent Inventor’s Handbook.

30 Million Eggies Contest Results!

So, just how many miles would 30 million Eggies extend?

Given that Eggies are approximately 3.5″ in length, the correct answer is 1, 657.2 miles!

Congratulations to all of our winners and egg-cellent job on guessing correctly! Be sure to check for an email from us and send us your full name and address, if you haven’t done so already, so we can ship off your set of Eggies!

30 Million Eggies Contest

Hey, Inventors! Feel like winning something?! :) If so, get out your rulers and brush off those math skills; we have a fun challenge for you!

We recently shared the exciting news about the 30 millionth Eggie rolling off the assembly line! Now, in celebration of this feat, we’re giving some of those Eggies away! Want to win a set? Here’s how it works:

The first 30 people to email us with the correct answer to the following question will win their own set of Eggies:

If you laid 30 million Eggies end to end, how many miles would they go?

Email your answers to eggiescontest@edisonnation.com no later than Wednesday, September 21 at 5pm EST. The correct answer will be announced and the winners will be notified by email on Friday, September 23.

To help you out a bit, here’s a tip:

-The Eggie in this image is very close to actual size.
