Let’s all remember that both Gremlins and Die Hard take place in the holiday season, too.

A lesser known holiday movie, Gremlins

The December issue of Inventors Digest is paying tribute to another holiday classic: A Christmas Story.

December's Inventors Digest

In this month’s cover story, get to know the man behind the famous leg lamp, Jean Shepherd. A man of many talents, Shepherd introduced us all to Ralphie in A Christmas Story, a film that weaves together many autobiographical moments from his own life. While Ralphie and his bb gun are part of pop culture consciousness, many aren’t as aware of Shepherd’s effect on American film and comedy. Did you know Jerry Seinfeld named his third child Shepherd and once said: “He really formed my entire comedic sensibility. I learned how to do comedy from Jean Shepherd.”

The December issue is also paying tribute to the Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation‘s Inventors of the Year for creating life-saving cancer drugs. In addition, get to know Mike Eaton, the inventor-entrepreneur behind Hero Clean products, which is taking the stink out of men’s clothes.

Check out the full issue here. It will make you appreciate TBS’ 24 hours of A Christmas Story that much more!
