Lisa St. John Receives “G8″ in Giggy the Pom Search!

Last summer, we held a search in partnership with Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Lisa Vanderpump, and her equally famous pup, “Giggy” the Pom. For the search, we sought your best ideas for innovative, functional, and stylish ideas to be a part of a trendy pet product line to be launched by Giggy himself.

We are excited to announce that as a result of that search, EN member, Lisa St. John, has had her idea selected for commercialization by Giggy’s team — with Giggy giving a sassy bark of approval, of course!

So, who is the woman behind this “G8″ success? Glad you asked!

A native of Madison, Wisc., Lisa St. John now resides just outside of Ithaca, NY with her husband, Pete, and their two children. There, Lisa and Pete own a design firm that specializes in exhibit, product and graphic design. As the daughter of small business owners,  Lisa has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, leading to a long trail of creative endeavors and start-ups — not to mention, an ever-growing list of product ideas (in her trusty notebook!).  After discovering Edison Nation last fall, Lisa spent only a short time on the site before she was hooked — and according to Lisa, the Giggy the Pom search, albeit new terrain, was right up her alley!

“Edison Nation was hosting a search for a pet product for Giggy, the canine star of the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – and I truly dove into the process.  My submission was a completely new idea inspired by Edison Nation’s call for action.  I’m a huge fan of the Housewives series, and of Lisa Vanderpump in particular, so when I saw this search, lots of ideas started brewing.  I had seen every show, and felt like I had a good idea of what that little ‘Gigster’ would like.  I knew Lisa had a good sense of humor, so  I created some silly illustrations, made a video, and sent it.”

…And the rest, as they say, is history! Well, sort of!

When we asked Lisa what she’d like the EN community to know about her, she responded:

“My mom always says ‘people perish for lack of a dream,’ so at heart, I’m a diehard dreamer! I believe wholly that you have to have a vision for yourself, live life creatively and try to garner some joy and wisdom from every encounter. That is why I am so enthusiastic about Edison Nation. The EN community members are consummate cheerleaders and sage advisors. It’s been extremely supportive and most inspiring.

Well said, Lisa! We couldn’t agree more! :-)

Please join us as we continue to be Lisa’s “cheerleaders” and congratulate her on this exciting news!
